I'm still on the fence about its styling, but the sound it makes is undeniably exquisite.

Wow. Those cracks sound like a .308!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:14 |

I swear, AMG doesn't car how their cars perform but they need to be FUCKING LOUD/
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:19 |

Haha. That does seem to be a theme with them. However, they do seem to be getting better with performance as shown with the C63 Black.

Good analogy.

Bolt action exhaust?
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:22 |

Basically.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:22 |

Although it sounds like there is a pretty heavy echo wherever they are...
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:23 |

That car is a monster but it's a bit pricey for what you're getting, no?
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:24 |

I think they're in a Mercedes dealership showroom.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:25 |

Yes and no. Compared with other things, yes. However, when compared to the BMW M3 GTS, it's a bargain.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:26 |

Well then, excuse me while I find a way to round up $120K.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:34 |

I wonder what the Black Series will sound like?
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:36 |

Like a B.A.R. equipped firing squad I suppose.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:38 |

That damn GTS was too expensive. And too rare. BMW should have made a lot more of them and sold them at a cheaper price.
But of course they couldn't do that. Because nobody would be excited about the M4 if there were a ton of E92 M3 GTSs running around. The GTS is easily in the top 3 best bimmers ever made.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:39 |

That would be delightful.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:43 |

Sorry BMW. The M3/M4's engine can't compete with this 4L mill that AMG is going to put into everything.
AMG is a lot smarter than everyone else. They took the 2L I4 and turned it into a twin turbo 4L V8. Why BMW, Audi and Caddy have not done this as well for their performance models is beyond me.

The cardinal sin was not bringing it to the U.S.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:45 |

I personally love everything about it's car, especially the WEIGHT
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:47 |
|
It was definitely a smart, strategic move. Couldn't Audi do something similar though with their twin turbo 4.0L V8?
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:47 |

So the AMG GT is supposed to be a 911 fighter but I honestly think that I would pick an AMG (any AMG) over a 911 because of the shear forceful-ness of them. I don't care if I am .3 seconds behind on a lap or 1 second slower on the 0-60, those are just numbers. AMG is about be loud and having fun, they don't seem to take themselves all that seriously and I like that.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:48 |

Indeed the weight was a huge relief to me.
The only things I'm not sold on are the headlights and smooth rear end.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:51 |
|
It's taking all of my energy to not make a rear-end joke right now.
But I really like the look of this car from behind.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:51 |

It definitely is refreshing to see an automaker take this stance.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:52 |

Just do it. I don't judge, much.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:53 |

AMG, the Honey Badger of the Automotive World since 1967.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:53 |

I was not prepared for that response.
I do not have a joke prepared.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:54 |

Basically.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:55 |

You're a disappointment, Brian. You must be ready for anything.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:56 |

I do have this, but it's not much:
Oh Elon!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:58 |
|
I'll accept it.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 13:58 |

THE GODS HAVE BEEN SATISFIED
*bows*
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:03 |

I forgot that engine is 4L. For some reason I thought it was bigger than that and too heavy for their smaller cars. I guess I kept thinking of it as an engine that was more similar to the big TT V8 that Mercedes uses in their larger sedans because Audi hasn't used their 4L V8 in their smaller cars yet (or have they?).
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:05 |

Damn you BMW!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:06 |
|
I think this is the first car ever that will truly compete with the 911. The Corvette has often been the better performance car but it has never been able to steal many customer's from the 911's core demographic.
But the AMG GT is fast enough and classy enough to steal sales from the country club crowd.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:08 |
|
Nope. RS4 and 5 use a 4.2L V8.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:09 |
|
I sure hope so, I'd love to see these things blasting down the Autobahn. I see about 11 Porsches and 7 e90 M3s a day, I need a change-up!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:09 |
|
Indeed.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:09 |
|
Yeah that's what I thought - they still use the N/A V8 that's also in the R8
Audi needs to get that 4L TT V8 into more cars pronto!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:10 |
|
I think they will because of its power and efficiency potential.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:12 |
|
Then Audi and Mercedes can have performance car battles! Quattro vs. AMG. TT 4L V8 vs. TT 4L V8. Let the best Germans win!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:13 |

Haha my two cars are as common as Camrys over there!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:15 |
|
I can't wait!
![]() 10/10/2014 at 14:18 |

I hardly see any Camrys out here.
![]() 10/10/2014 at 16:49 |

Haha I was wondering about that. They are crazy common in California. But luckily you don't see a ton like we do.
